Long-term care at VMRC is provided in Oak Lea, a fully accredited nursing center. It recently earned a "better than satisfactory" rating during a recent certification and state licensure inspection. Oak Lea care is available to current VMRC residents as well as anyone 55 and older. Our aim is to provide a supportive environment which enriches our residents’ lives and promotes their independence through individualized care. We do this through caregivers who focus on ensuring that residents’ needs are met with compassion, dignity and respect for residents’ choices.

Oak Lea’s program tops all area nursing homes with the ratio of caregivers to residents. The ratio of certified nursing assistants to residents is one of the highest in the nation, and a team of RNs, LPNs and assistants is on duty 24-hours a day. This ratio far exceeds any area nursing care program and we believe equates to superior quality care.
