FAQs

What should I consider when shopping for a retirement community?

Your retirement years should be lived in an environment that gives you the most freedom - to travel, to enjoy cultural events, to participate in your favorite activities, to take care of yourself and your spouse. We can discuss those features that are most important to you: location, activities, costs, campus layout and amenities. Send your questions to marketing@vmrc.org or call us to schedule a tour, (540)564-3418.

What steps will make moving in easier?

Our Marketing staff can guide you through the process - from providing a tour, introducing you to resident ambassadors, to establishing relationships with the best resources on our campus to answer your questions. We can even refer you to the right resources for staging your home or downsizing. Let us guide you through the steps.

Who should be involved in the process?

You may want to discuss your move with other family members, your financial or estate planner. Asking friends who have recently moved into retirement communities is another source of information.

When is the best time to move into a retirement community?

Right now --if you want more freedom. Life at VMRC will provide freedom from home ownership and its obligations. If you want to enjoy more activities than your current lifestyle allows, or if your health would benefit from assisted living and long-term care services, the time is right!
