“The greatest gift is a portion of thyself.” ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
VMRC appreciates the gifts of time from our invaluable volunteers. Our Volunteer Program is one of the largest and most robust in the Shenandoah Valley. More than 500 volunteers contribute more than 44,000 hours of service annually toward helping VMRC residents age well and live fully. If we put a price tag on their service hours, it would be more than one million dollars - now that's a real value.
As a large community that loves to keep giving, keep living, keep going and keep growing, there are always opportunities to contribute a helping hand. Our goal is to match volunteers with a personalized and purposeful service opportunity.
Whatever you like to do, our Volunteer Services Manager will match you up with the perfect role! Possibilities are endless! Choose from a variety of opportunities– being a House Friend at Woodland Park, companionship to appointments, trip assistant or volunteer in the on-campus grocery store.
