VMRC Welcomes New Resident Services Managers
Resident Services Managers play a vital role at VMRC, working to build positive and lasting relationships with residents. The RSM role provides residents and their families support in navigating VMRC, links residents to needed resources both in and outside of VMRC and guides individuals through the transition of care levels. Their most important role, however, is to be a consistent and reliable listening ear when issues or questions arise. VMRC recently welcomed two new RSM’s upon the retirements of long-time staff members, Donna Shank and Meribeth Kraybill.
Heather Yoder rejoined the VMRC team as the Resident Services Manager (RSM) for Park Gables in December 2020 but has worked at VMRC for nearly 15 years. While in school at Eastern Mennonite University, Heather completed an internship at the VMRC Wellness Center where she was offered a position upon graduation. In addition to her roles at the Wellness Center, she also spent time as the Life Enrichment Program Coordinator. Heather completed a degree as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant and worked in inpatient therapy outside of VMRC just before starting in the RSM position.
Heather is married with 2 sons, Judah and Elias. In her spare time, she enjoys being outdoors digging in the dirt, hiking, playing soccer, reading, singing and being with her family.
Mia Olsen joined VMRC as the RSM for Park Place in March 2021. Originally from Ohio, she moved to Virginia to attend Eastern Mennonite University to pursue degrees in camping recreation and youth ministries. Mia previously worked with Valley Program for Aging Services (VPAS) managing three Senior Centers in the local area and then later with Meals on Wheels.
Outside of work, Mia enjoys reading, hiking and playing volleyball.
We are happy to have both Heather and Mia on board and look forward to the contributions they will make!
