Independent Living

VMRC’s Parks program offers living options which put you at the heart of our community. With easy access to arts and cultural programs, the Park Gables Gallery and the Main Street hub of campus, the Parks program is made up of Park Gables, Park Place and Park Village.

Choices include private cottages and apartments with extensive floor plan, design and amenity options. Residents invest with a one-time entrance fee upon move in that starts around $100,000. An additional monthly service fee starting around $1,000 per month covers a host of services and amenities like membership to our Wellness Center, social and educational opportunities and housekeeping and maintenance services.

Assisted Living and Complete Living Care

If you or a loved one is looking for additional support with day-to-day activities in a private residential setting, supportive living may be the right option for you. VMRC offers two levels of supportive care based on the needs of the individual.

Heritage Haven

VMRC manages Heritage Haven which provides affordable housing in coordination with the federal department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for low-income individuals 62 years of age or older. Rental amounts for this 150-apartment community are based on household income.

Eligibility requirements:

  • Head of Household is 62 years of age or older
  • Household members are U.S. citizens or eligible non-citizens
  • Household members agree to abide by the tobacco-free campus policy
  • Household members can meet the “Criteria for Residential Living”
  • Household’s gross annual income is less than the income limits set by HUD
    • 1 person household – less than $38,300
    • 2 person household – less than $43,800
