Resident care and resident accommodations were two of the areas highlighted at Crestwood at VMRC by Commonwealth officials who recently inspected VMRC's assisted living community.
Crestwood earned an outstanding report in the unannounced inspection by the Virginia Department of Social Services. The inspection also reviewed the following areas: resident services, staffing and supervision, emergency preparedness, administration, and buildings and grounds. Do you know someone who could benefit from Crestwood?
Alzheimer's diseases can be difficult for children to understand. "Grandpa, do you know who I am,?" part of HBO's documentary "The Alzheimer's Project," will be aired 7-8:30 p.m. August 19 in Detwiler Auditorium in VMRC's Corporate Center. Maria Shriver, daughter of the late Eunice Kennedy Shriver, narrates this segment which is geared toward children and young teens coping with a grandparent's Alzheimer's. For more information about discussing Alzheimer's with your children, see Memory Care at VMRC.
The next exhibition of resident and staff art will be June 30 through September 27. Multimedia pieces will be displayed along the Art Walk Gallery between Park Gables and Heritage Haven.
