Abena Foreman-Trice

Senior Director, Marketing & Communications

A seasoned marketing communications leader, Abena brings more than a decade of experience in strategic communications, public relations, digital marketing and content development. Beginning a career in broadcast journalism with NBC29 in Charlottesville, Virginia, Abena built a strong foundation in storytelling and audience engagement.

Over the years, Abena has led impactful marketing and communications efforts across a variety of mission-driven organizations, including the University of Virginia and the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank. As Senior Director of Marketing Communications at Virginia Mennonite Retirement Community, Abena shapes compelling narratives that get to the heart of who we are. 

Abena holds a B.S. in Mass Communications and a Master’s in Organizational Management.  

Outside of work, Abena is a playback theater improvisation actor and serves on several boards. She also enjoys spending time with her husband Calvin, and their adult son and two daughtes.
