Not just a great place to live, but also a great place to work

As a Christ-centered organization, rooted in our Anabaptist heritage of stewardship, service, justice and compassion, VMRC strives to live and work as community. Our mission is to create a welcoming and inclusive environment that reflects the diversity of Harrisonburg/Rockingham County in race, ethnicity and cultural demographics.

Our current workforce comprises a diverse population who speaks 14 languages, hails from 14 home countries and represents 13 ethnicities. (Employee Survey, October 2021)

We are committed to maintaining a culture that embraces and values the views and opinions of all people regardless of race, color, ethnicity, and gender. Our commitment to achieving this goal will help to bring our mission and values to life.

In our journey toward diversity and inclusion we will:

  • Look within to recognize our blind spots and biases.

  • Listen to others’ perspectives and experiences.

  • Learn to recognize prejudices and privileges.

  • Live with empathy and a commitment to equity.

Together, we can create a ray of hope that the world can become a better place, starting with VMRC.

What do our employees have to say?
