VMRC Gives Back: Supporting Children for a Successful School Year

VMRC supports initiatives that enhance children’s abilities and ensure they have the resources they need to thrive. As students throughout our region return to school this month, they will carry with them the compassion and prayers of many in our community who believe in their potential and support their journeys.

Tools for School Donations Delivered

Our Volunteer Services team collected school supplies in support of the Central Shenandoah Valley United Way's Back-to-School Resource Fair held on August 9. Thanks to the generous support shown by our community, everything from backpacks to pens, pencils and crayon boxes made its way to children throughout Harrisonburg and Rockingham County. We’re grateful for the kindness and generosity that flows throughout our home.

Supporting Childhood Health

We were also proud to be a sponsor for the Children’s Health Day event held by Healthy Community Health Centers (HCHC) as part of National Health Center Week. The event took place at the Stone Port Health & Dental Service Center in Harrisonburg on August 9.

Families with children received kids’ dental kits, bike helmets, carseat installation demonstrations and backpacks filled with school supplies. Games and activities made the event fun for children of all ages.

With one of its medical centers located on our campus, HCHC prioritizes community health for individuals and families in our region.

VMRC's compassion will continue to fuel kids’ futures throughout the year!
