Jake Bell

President / CEO

Jake is a seasoned executive leader with more than 20 years of experience in faith-based senior living. His expertise lies in leading strategic change, preserving organizational missions and expanding service offerings. He possesses extensive knowledge in post-acute senior housing and care, home and community-based services, and the development and operations of Programs of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE).

Prior to his arrival at VMRC, Jake served as the President and CEO of Christian Horizons, an organization consisting of 11 locations, including several life Continuing Care Retirement  Communities across four states, with its headquarters in St. Louis, Missouri. Under his leadership, the organization focused on enhancing resident care and community outreach. Before his role at Christian Horizons, Jake was the Chief Operating Officer for Lutheran Senior Services in St. Louis, where he oversaw multi-site operations, ensuring high standards of care across various facilities.

Earlier in his career, Jake held the position of President and CEO of Catholic Health East Trinity Health. He progressively advanced through leadership roles, beginning as Director and later as Executive Director from 2004 to 2009. His career trajectory reflects a commitment to excellence in senior care and community service.

Jake holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master’s in Zoology from Southeastern Oklahoma State University and Oklahoma State University, respectively. Additionally, he earned a Master of Science in Administration of Long-Term Care and Retirement Facilities from the University of North Texas, with a focus on strategic planning, organizational development and leadership.

An interesting anecdote about Jake is that his father was a leader in the senior living industry. This background fueled his passion for enhancing the lives of older adults throughout his career.
