Joe Hackman
CPO
Joe has a background in congregational ministry and organizational fundraising, and through both roles has worked to help communities invest in shared vision. With more than a decade of experience as a congregational pastor in Eastern Pennsylvania and later in donor development for MennoMedia, an agency of Mennonite Church USA, Joe now focuses on raising support for compassion care, community enrichment, and staff empowerment at VMRC. In addition to his fundraising role, he also serves in mission integration, helping VMRC stay connected to its Anabaptist tradition and identity.
Joe holds a Master of Divinity (MDiv) from Eastern Mennonite Seminary. His expertise in cultivating donor relationships and supporting mission-driven initiatives has made a significant impact at VMRC.
Beyond his professional life, Joe enjoys spending time with his family—his wife Angela and their two children, Ila (15) and JP (11)—and enjoys coaching baseball, outdoor activities, and supporting his local church.
"Fundraising is first and foremost a ministry. It is a way of inviting people into a relationship that will enable them to invest in the mission and vision of a community."
