Building a Future of Care and Compassion

Across Virginia, the population is aging rapidly. By 2030, one in five Virginians will be 65 or older, and in rural areas, about 30% of residents will be 60 and older. As the number of older adults grows, challenges such as housing affordability, access to nutritious food and social isolation become more pressing.

At VMRC, we’re dedicated to addressing these needs and ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to live well, regardless of background or income.

A Community of Care and Connection

At the core of VMRC is a belief that maintaining a life of quality comes from compassionate care, connection and advocacy. Heritage Haven, the campus’s HUD-supported housing, provides affordable homes with access to services and community engagement, helping residents age in place surrounded by friends.

Through the Compassion Fund, VMRC supports residents who have exhausted their financial resources, ensuring that no one loses access to care due to circumstances beyond their control. This fund reflects VMRC’s ongoing promise to honor the dignity and value of every resident.

A Voice for Change

Through partnerships with organizations such as LeadingAge Virginia, VMRC works to raise awareness about the needs of older adults and promote policies that make life better for all aging Virginians.

True progress happens when we all take part by sharing stories, supporting organizations like VMRC and engaging in efforts that help older adults thrive.
